Berkeley/China-CDC Program For Water and Health

In 2016, after years of collaboration and planning, the Berkeley Water Center (BWC) at the University of California Berkeley, and the National Center for Rural Water Supply Technical Guidance (NCRWSTG) at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC), launched the “Berkeley/China-CDC Program for Water & Health” – a partnership to collaborate on applied research projects and initiatives related to water, health, and the environment in China and the USA.

Working together, the two institutes are developing and evaluating new strategies and programs for addressing drinking water supply, contamination & treatment, as well as related issues such as sanitation & hygiene, climate change, rural poverty & gender equality, air pollution, and other factors which impact human and environmental health.

In addition, the two organizations will continue to host regular conferences and workshops focused on professional exchanges, institutional and technical capacity building, results dissemination, and community outreach.
