Welcome to the Berkeley Water Center Scientific Data Server

Recognizing the importance of partnerships between computer science leaders and physical science to stimulate developments within ecoinformatics, we have been developing an advanced data server. Through close interaction between computer scientists and environmental scientists, we are building new tools and approaches to benefit regional and global scale analysis efforts, as well as the general e-Science community. There are several key infrastructure we are building.

The initial project we undertook is development of the AmeriFlux Scientific Data Server. Using the AmeriFlux data as a prototype environmental data set we were able to sevelop and test the server architecture. We are now also applying the server to the Russian River and Pajaro watersheds. The Russian River Data Server and the Pajaro River Data Server are both under development and we continue to expand the data available through these servers. The FLUXNET Synthesis Data Server is an outgrowth of the AmeriFlux work and is supporting the La Thuile synthesis workshop of the FLUXNET community. Announcements regarding the Scientific Data Server are sent to bwc-amflux@lists.berkeley.edu. If you are using this server, please also subscribe to the mailing list by sending a message to majordomo@lists.berkeley.edu with the contents of "subscribe bwc-amflux".
